Volunteer Opportunities

Join our Helping Hands group to be informed when there are things you could help us with. There is no commitment – you can help as little or as much as you like, but all your help will be appreciated. Whether it’s helping out at an event for an hour, litter picking or just spreading the word to your social groups. Feel good learning more about how you can make a difference to our community when it suits you.

The human nature of giving is one of the most powerful forces. At Friends Of Winterbourne Academy, we harness the efforts of our volunteers to positively impact the lives of Winterbourne Academy students and the community. Working as a team it is a friendly and caring group of people who take action to make a difference. We’d love for you to join us on the committee and help us to improve our efforts.

Coming along to a meeting and see if it’s for you.  Join an online meeting with other members, offer some fresh new ideas, have your say about where the funds we raise are spent. If you decide its for you we don’t ask for much, just that you attend at least 4 online meetings a year and that members join the WhatsApp group and take part in the chats.  Email us to find out more and see the benefits of joining the committee. 

You can donate items for our events or projects, help provide advertising, lend us some of your time & talents or even donate money. Every year we hold several events including a fabulously festive Christmas Market at Winterbourne Academy. There are many ways in which you can help: 

• donating items for our tombola or raffle 
• providing your skills or items for our projects (for example our SENCO garden project)
• performing at an event
• helping us advertise events & spread the word
• renting a stall to sell your seasonal products and services 
• volunteering a bit of time to help run an event
• even donating money directly
